"Champagne?!? What is there to celebrate?
Crumbly-ness?"

DEC.13 | Well, look who not only pulled it together, but is also holding it together ...
Two race days in Altenberg ... and two more 6th place finishes. No one can accuse me of inconsistency this year ...
As it turns out ... I actually like this track a whole lot. It plays to my strengths as slider - hard corners that require a lot of steering, which means that bad form is less of a factor. Big curves with very obvious oscillations mean, for the first time, I can actually feel the loops and can steer based on those feelings. And you always have to be on your toes ... you need to be paying attention in virtually every corner - there isn't a whole lot of time to relax anywhere on this track.
The only thing I hate about Altenberg is the start. Normally I am quick off the blocks and have one of the faster starts in a race. This start is very flat and very long, and might as well be distance event as far as I am concerned. I couldn't for the life of me get the hang of it. I either got on my sled too early and might as well have put out my hands and paddled to get up to speed. Or I ran too far, and ran out of steam.
Go figure. While eveyone else is crashing out of six separate corners at speeds of 100 kph, losing sleds and the occasional body part, I am busy complaining that the start section is too complicated.
But really, do you expect anything less from me?
