So the camping officially started this past weekend.

By camping, I mean backing a car up to an open spot, dumping out all the comforts of home including a queen size air mattress, pillows, blankets, hammock and chairs, starting a fire and parking myself in front of it, squarely between a cooler full of Growers Apple Ciders and a giant bag of marshmallows.

Jay and I camp with the specific goal of honing our skills in the art of lazing about. That, and testing the limits of our bodies' ability to consume and process only meat products for 11 straight meals.

Gotta be honest ... my meatatarian skills are just not up to par. My digestive system told me so.

Also, I really feel that I didn't give my best effort when it came to lazing about this weekend. While I did manage to take several naps and sit in front of the campfire for seven consecutive hours at one point, I have to be honest and admit that I did go play bocce ball for approximately one hour on Saturday. Admittedly, bocce may very well be one of the laziest sports ever invented (second only to golf, where, unlike bocce, someone actually carries your equipment around for you) but that doesn't negate the fact that I left my post next to campfire.

I guess what this all boils down to, is that I need more self-discipline and practice, and the only way to accomplish that is to pack up the car again and head out.
