Remember that notorius track we visited in December, the one where people either win medals by making it down rightside up, or they die?

Well, apparently no one has noticed that a quaint little Swiss track has been quietly creeping up alongside Altenberg, vying for the honour of "Most likely place for a skeleton athlete to incur brain damage."

I am calling this segment "Let's talk about something here" to document the many chronologically irrelevent issues that ... well ... need to be talked about. For example, let's talk about something here ...

This is my mother-in-law's crack poppyseed cake.

Every year at Christmas she makes plates and plates and plates of proper German baking. And every Christmas I am too busy trying to make sure no one eats all the kipferl, that I don't bother with the poppyseed cake.

I am calling this segment "Things you won't see in Canada" to document the many things you see over here in Europe that ... well ... you wouldn't see in Canada. Take for example this menu item from the Bavarian restaurant at the airport in Munich ...

You know, I was really tempted by this meal combo, but I didn't think I'd be able to finish the bread roll.

At Christmas I decided it was really high time for me to walk around an industrial metal shop in Windsor, Ontario wearing nothing but spandex, crocs and safety glasses, because really, that check box has been sitting empty on my to-do list for WAY too long.

While I was there, I also decided that I might as well get some work done on my sled.
