Summary: Okay ... so if you were paying attention to the last post, you may have put two and two together to realize that this past Saturday I was busy stuffing s'mores into my face during the regular garage sailing hours. But did that stop me, and a highly-motivated group of girls, from ditching the campfire for a few hours and driving back into town for our weekly fix?

Nope.

And good thing too, cause I got me a glitter lamp!

So the camping officially started this past weekend.

By camping, I mean backing a car up to an open spot, dumping out all the comforts of home including a queen size air mattress, pillows, blankets, hammock and chairs, starting a fire and parking myself in front of it, squarely between a cooler full of Growers Apple Ciders and a giant bag of marshmallows.

This summer I am playing softball with the Vancouver Women's Fastpitch League on a Division II team called the Mariners. I chose this team for obvious reasons: the team colours include teal.

So, Monday night was our first game ... let's go ahead and summarize in the three-pluses-three-negatives format that my sport psych makes me review each skeleton race with.

Which aspects of the game were you most happy with?

Summary: The sheer amount of strollers/high chairs/onesies/baby booties/pregnancy books/breast pumps/all-other-items-that-fall-under-the-umbrella-category-of-baby-paraphernalia, combined with the abundant and unstoppable enthusiasm expressed by EVERYONE EXCEPT ME towards said items, was enough to leave me teetering on the edge this week (and if you need to ask yourself if it's the edge that overlooks parenthood, you are so far off and sorely mistaken that I have it in mind to knock on your door and strangle you with one of the myriad of Jolly Jumpers available on the circu

Okay, well technically it's not hatemail, since 1) it's a posted comment, not an email or letter, and 2) it's not so much hateful as it is merely critical. But it IS an unsolicited, pejorative communication from a random stranger, and, when it comes to legitimizing my status as a blogger, that's good enough for me!
