March 28: Is it just me, or is this just not right?

I drove down to Seattle on Friday, a lovely spring day. The flowers were blooming, the trees were budding, THE SNOW WAS FALLING. What do you think this is? Ottawa?

I walked by our chocolate shop today and noticed this sign on the door. I used to think this was an odd practice, but then I saw the same sign on the antique shop door, the furniture shop door, the eastern philosophy and buddhist store door, the shoe store door, the bakery door, the dollar store door ... the post office door ...

77 weeks ago Jay and I packed everything we owned into a rented RV, threw a few cats in just to make things interesting, and drove 3,739 km in order to (as was my mantra for those beginning months) "move to a town I've never been to, for a sport I've never done, on a track that doesn't exist."

Should I be surprised that the day after I got home from Calgary this is what I woke up to?

Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining, for the following stellar reasons:
1) I don't have to shovel the puddle, unlike those of my family members currently digging themselves out in Eastern Canada.
