October 8: Happy Thanksgiving from the Land of Living Skies
For Thanksgiving I went to Saskatchewan with my friend Tiff and her husband Brynn who was born and raised in the thriving prairie metropolis of North Battleford:

Today I played paintball for the first time. I am hoping I didn't give myself away as a newbie when I knocked my gun against the bunker as I went to take my first shot at someone, popped open the container and dumped my 99 remaining paintballs all over the ground. Or when I went to get my paintballs refilled, forgot to put my barrel safety cover on and pointed my gun right in the face of our referee.
What's that? Oh, you are wondering what I did today? Well, funny you should ask. I sat in this tub of ice water for 12 minutes. It was fun. In a sitting-in-a-tub-of-ice-water-for-12-minutes kind of way.
I can't be sure, but I am working with the theory that Calgary has a little bit of a traffic problem. I can't really pinpoint what gave me the idea. Maybe its that people use the words "highway" and "parking lot" interchangeably around here. Or maybe it was the TWO HOURS I SPENT GOING NOWHERE while actually trying to get somewhere yesterday morning.
A couple weeks ago I found a snail at the end of my driveway, so I picked him up, brought him inside, named him Herman and put him in my fish tank, which at this point was mostly empty from the move. He's been chilling out there ever since.
This weekend I bought a new goldfish (who is called McLovin, for those of you superbad enough to appreciate that) and filled up the fish tank.
