This is me trying to steal the 2008 Provincial Championships trophy from Darla. She did not react favorably. At one point she pulled my hair.

So I guess next year I will just have to win the trophy myself, especially in order to prevent any further such displays of flamboyant bravado ...

Yesterday at practice it was a beautiful warm spring day, with perfect sticky snow. So we built a snowman:

It's funny because we built it on the truck that carries us from the bottom of the track back to the top after each run.

And even funnier because it actually lasted a few more trips up and down the hill.

I'd really like to regale everyone with my weekend tales of car repair, but I am still exhausted from four days of fighting with my alternator and with those who sell alternators, and I have to get up and head to the track early tomorrow.

And by early I mean I have to be there at 9:30 am. While most of you think I am joking, my husband and a selection of former roommates know that this really will be a chore for me. (I will leave my rant about the world's unfair perceptions of night owls for another day ... )

I raced in my third America's Cup race this past Saturday, in Calgary. Because there are 10 women on the development team, our coaches gave everyone the chance to race in Calgary by splitting us up over the two days of racing; so I only raced on the first day.

I'll just preface the report by putting my sigh right here:

Sigh.

It was a really hard race.

We left for Park City the day after Nationals, so I didn't even had a chance to think about the weekend.

This time, instead of the 15-hour drive to Utah, we got to fly. Which was almost better than, say, chocolate-covered chocolate. And then the fun began.
