October 21: Morning glory
This is the view from the top of the Calgary track at 7:30 a.m. I had the pleasure of taking it in every morning for the last two weeks that I had to be at the track ready to slide at 9 am, which meant a 6:30 am departure in order to battle the Calgary commuter traffic.
The beautiful morning sunrise that was waiting for me at the top of the track almost made it all worth it.
And by almost I mean not even close.
October 15: If only the sparks would fly between me and my sled on the ice as well ...
Today my sled underwent some minor surgery to bring it up to FIBT standards.
Now my sled meets FIBT standards.
In case you were wondering.
As I am sure you were.
So ... yeah ...
That's all.
October 12: Excuse me, is there going to be any speed involved in this?
September 30: Pre-season training
Today I played paintball for the first time. I am hoping I didn't give myself away as a newbie when I knocked my gun against the bunker as I went to take my first shot at someone, popped open the container and dumped my 99 remaining paintballs all over the ground. Or when I went to get my paintballs refilled, forgot to put my barrel safety cover on and pointed my gun right in the face of our referee.
