Seems like only yesterday that I donned my orange Converse sneakers and walked down the aisle to the Star Wars theme song. Turns out it was actually 1827 yesterdays ...

It's Jay's year to plan our anniversary celebrations, and he took me camping at Birkenhead Lake, very appropriate, as this years traditional gift is wood, and we were surrounded by it.

We ate A LOT of campire-cooked meat, took a lot of naps and lit a few things on fire, including our citronella candle.

When we were still in Alaska, Jay and I bought some model rockets. He finished building his about two years ago. I finished mine last week.

I built a mini Space Ship One, complete with decals and parachute deployment system. Suffice it to say ... it's TOTALLY WICKED. I mean sure, it doesn't launch to heights of 3000 feet (like ... say ... oh, I don't know ... that of a certain husband) but with her slick red paint job, she's a sight to behold.

This past weekend we went up to Whistler and stayed overnight in a funky little hotel called the Adara. It had a modern twist to its decor that can adequately be summed up by this:

Today I watched a competition Pow Wow at the University of Northern BC in Prince George. It was the first time I have ever been to a Pow Wow, and it was totally cool. It was very captivating. And colourful. And cultural.

This is Amedeo. He has been cutting my mom's hair for a good ten years now, and he did all of our hair for my wedding. I figured since I was back in Montreal this week, I would get him to cut my hair. Because really, when else do I get the chance to have an Italian dude named Amedeo run his fingers through my hair and tell me how sassy I look?
